Insurance Industry Oversight/Inefficiency

The no-fault insurance company has 30 days to make payment on a properly submitted claim. Their failure to do so will result in interest penalties. There is no excuse for late payment by the insurance company. Everybody has deadlines to which they must adhere when paying their obligations. Insurance companies should not be treated any differently. To succeed in a lawsuit against the insurance company for oversight or inefficiency, it is strongly recommended that detailed office procedure be used to document when the bill was submitted, who submitted the bill, any telephone calls or correspondence relating to the submitted bill and documentation of non-payment after 30 days. The medical provider should supply this information to the attorney representing it or its patient.
