Queens, NY (June 27, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred in the neighborhood of Sunnyside, Queens, when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on 47th Avenue. The collision happened at approximately 3:32 p.m., claiming the life of a 16-year-old and injuring another child. Authorities responded to the emergency and pronounced the teenager deceased at the scene while the other victim was found with a leg injury.
The identities of the victims are currently withheld as the officials continue their investigation. In connection with the fatal event, the driver of a white truck purportedly involved in the hit-and-run was later apprehended by the police. The authorities are working towards establishing the particulars of the incident.
