Queens, NY – A motor vehicle accident on the Belt Parkway has led to charges against 28-year-old Maikel Martinez for allegedly staging the incident and exhibiting reckless endangerment.
According to reports, Asphia Natasha was driving with a recording device monitoring her vehicle’s dash when Martinez, driving a silver Honda Civic, cut her off by abruptly reversing into her car. The collision prompted a swift reaction from the occupants of the Honda, who reportedly attempted to obscure the scene with a tarp, switch seating positions, and abandon the vehicle shortly after the impact.
Witness accounts indicate that four individuals exited the Honda Civic post-collision. The driver, Maikel Martinez, claimed his wife was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Two other unidentified individuals, a man and a woman, were noted leaving the Honda before one entered a red Kia that had allegedly been tailing Natasha’s vehicle throughout the incident.
Law enforcement quickly responded to the scene, initiating an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. They discovered key evidence that suggested the collision may not have been accidental. Following their inquiries, the authorities arrested Martinez, who faces multiple charges stemming from the event.
