After the tragic death of attorney Stephen M. Cohen’s two young grandchildren in 2014, the Reagan and Jax Cohen Memorial Fund was established to support organizations that “improve the lives of children, by making an impact on their health, welfare and/or general well being.” The firm and many of its lawyers and staff have been heavily involved with the organization, including an annual golf tournament that raises funds for the organization’s charitable endeavors.
The firm also serves as a sponsor of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, and has made a donation to the organization each time the firm’s Facebook page received a “like.” The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance is dedicated to “finding a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) while improving the lives of those affected.” The disease involves a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to grow in various organs of the body, frequently with life-changing results.
The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP is proud to promote The Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Health & Wellness Fest. The purpose of the event is to promote the health and well being of all members of the greater Port Jefferson community. Hosted at the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School, the Health & Wellness Fest brings together dozens of health and wellness professionals to guide you and your family through all stages of life including pre-birth, childhood, adulthood and elder years. In addition to traditional medicine practitioners, there will also be specialists in physical fitness, nutrition, and holistic medicine. The exhibitors will focus on prevention, early detection and treatment measures and techniques. This year’s event will take place on April 25, 2020. We hope to see you there.
The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP is a supporter of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, a parish community where all are welcome. Through education & service, Holy Family aims to foster the growth of Catholic moral principles, and inspire a fuller prayer life, empowering parishioners to build a deeper relationship with God. The church is located at 17 Fordham Avenue in Hicksville, NY, and is also associated with two schools: Holy Family School (Nursery to 8th Grade) and Holy Trinity Diocesan High School.
The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP supports the Cinema Arts Centre, whose mission is to bring the best in cinematic artistry to Long Island, and use the power of film to expand the awareness and consciousness of our community. Originally called the “New Community Cinema,” the Centre brings Long Island residents together around the films that define the character of our community.
Further, Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP supports the Long Island International Film Expo, a non-profit festival aiming to stimulate and encourage TV and film production on Long Island. While the Foundation promotes Long Island as a shooting location and helps expedite the procurement of government permits for media producers, the Expo itself is a celebration of Long Island’s film culture. With over 100 short and feature length films from all over the world shown every July, there’s sure to be something for everybody. The firm also supports CMSA Long Island. The Case Management Society of America provides professional collaboration across the healthcare field, advocating for patients’ wellbeing and better health outcomes. Their efforts foster growth in case management, provide tools and resources to patients and professionals, and impact healthcare policy around the country.
The firm is pleased to partner with the Syosset Baseball Assocation here on Long Island. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Association’s mission is to “promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball.” Play ball!
Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP is proud to work with the Hicksville American Soccer Club. A 501(c)3 organization, the club was founded in 1973 to provide young members of the Long Island community with an avenue to learn the beautiful game of soccer in a fun, competitive environment. With leagues for young children (under 4) all the way through high schoolers, they provide opportunities for active and continuous learning at all stages.
The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP supports the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC). With membership spanning all of Nassau and Suffolk Counties and beyond, it is Long Island’s largest and most active running group. GLIRC produces over 30 events every year, including the Marcum Workplace Challenge, and the Catholic Health Services Suffolk County Marathon. No matter what your age or ability, whether you are a mile a day beginner or a veteran marathoner, there’s a place for YOU in the Greater Long Island Running Club!
The firm is proud to partner with Long Island’s All Kids Fair. The Fair was created in 2011 to connect parents and kids to local businesses and organizations offering products and services for them.

The league aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience, in which every athlete learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the playing field, has fun playing the game, feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance, and learns the skills, tactics, and strategies of the game and improves as a player. They are committed to creating a culture in which coaches, parents, fans, umpires, and athletes work together to achieve their mission.
The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP is proud to help support the New York Bully Crew. New York Bully Crew is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue organization founded in December 2010. Though based on Long Island, NYBC’s outreach is worldwide. They specialize in rescuing Pitbull dogs and Pitbull puppies and babies, however, no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away.
The firm is pleased to partner with The Over 50 Fair. The Over 50 Fair was created to celebrate life over age 50. As people are retiring later and living longer, there are more years to have fun and live life to its fullest. Our event is part health and wellness fair, part conference, and part baby-boomer/senior fair.
On an individual level, Richard S. Jaffe, a personal injury attorney, actively participates as a member of the Patriot Guard, an organization established in 2005. The primary mission of this group is to provide steadfast support to the families of fallen heroes, ensuring their peace during memorial services by safeguarding them from any disturbances. In addition to his commitment to the Patriot Guard, Richard dedicates his time as a board member for The Center for Developmental Disabilities, which offers a wide range of essential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. He is also a member of Long Island ABATE (American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education), which promotes motorcycle safety and awareness in his community.
In the past, he volunteered as a basketball coach for the Jericho Athletic Association and as a lacrosse coach at the Jericho Lacrosse Club. Richard has served as a volunteer firefighter and medic for the Jericho Fire Department, and he worked as a medic for Brentwood Legion Ambulance. Additionally, he assisted victims of 9/11 through volunteering with the organization Trial Lawyers Care. In the legal field, Richard serves as a volunteer small claims court arbitrator and acts as a mediator for the Supreme Court of New York.”
Richard is a proud supporter of the Friends of Jacklyn Foundation, which aims to enhance the quality of life for children fighting pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers by connecting them with local teams, clubs, and community organizations.
Attorney Stephen B. Tiger serves as a volunteer coach for the Port Washington Youth Association. He also performs volunteer work for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
