A spokesperson for Volvo has announced the creation of a SUV called Volvo XC 90 that is going to revolutionize the safety of vehicles on dangerous highways. Built into the vehicles are sensors and cameras which will help with both vision and maneuverability of the SUV.
The Swedish company is expected to release this vehicle in 2020 with the promise that it will be death proof. It says that tragic accidents will no longer take place unless the driver has intentionally caused an accident to take place.
The vehicle will be loaded with innovative technology, which includes the ability to detect the presence of pedestrians and any other obstructions such as animals that could wander into the path of a vehicle. Sometimes accidents are caused by blind spots when a driver has failed to see, for example a cyclist making a turn. These blind spots will no longer exist for the driver of this new Volvo creation.
The main aim of Volvo is to reduce accidents and injuries that are so commonplace these days. So far in the 9 models of Volvos that have been out on New York’s roads and other states in the last four years where some of this anti-crash technology is in use accident results have been reduced markedly with no deaths recorded at all in this time period.
Volvo hopes that these positive results will lead sooner rather than later to a car that is completely autonomous with the relationship between the driver and his or her vehicle so complete that accidents and road fatalities will be a thing of the past.
Car drivers will be looking closely at Volvos claims to producing a crash-free vehicle as so many people fear for their lives when out on busy highways with the unexpected often around the corner that can cause a devastating accident in seconds.
Many issues such as DUI and distracted driving have been addressed in New York and throughout the country by issuing heavy penalties and license suspensions, but this hasn’t stopped the news coming out with tragic fatalities every day on New York’s roads. All accidents are caused by the wrong move by someone and are preventable, so any attempt by auto companies like Volvo to help prevent accidents will be welcomed by all drivers and other road users who unexpectedly encounter the tragic death of a loved one.
Fortunately, in New York and other states, anyone who is seriously injured or killed in a vehicle accident may be entitled to file a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver or in the case of the loss of a loved one the family may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim.
Whether you or a loved one have been injured, there are inevitably going to be financial hardships you will have to handle such as medical expenses and loss of earnings while recovery is taking place. This is when filing a personal injury claim using the services of an experienced New York and Long Island personal injury attorney like Richard S. Jaffe Esq. helps to relieve this financial burden.
