All Victims Identified in Tragic Long Island Collision Resulting in Off-Duty Officer’s Death

In a tragic incident on Long Island, four individuals lost their lives, including an off-duty NYPD officer, when a car crashed into a nail salon in Deer Park. The Suffolk County Police Department confirmed the casualties, who were identified as Jiancai Chen, 37; Yan Xu, 41; Meizi Zhang, 50—all from Flushing, Queens—and NYPD Officer Emilia Rennhack, 30, from Deer Park.

The collision occurred on Grand Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. last Friday. It resulted in fatalities and multiple injuries as the Chevrolet Traverse slammed into Hawaii Nail & Spa. Officer Rennhack was reportedly in the salon preparing for a wedding scheduled for the same evening.

Several other victims were seriously injured but are expected to survive. Nicole Miele, 54, of Dix Hills; Ana Garcia, 53, of Bay Shore; Wen Jun Cheng, 35, of Bayside, Queens; and Michael Mehale, 58, of Deer Park, are currently receiving medical care at local hospitals.

Additionally, Carol Garcia, 23, of Bay Shore; Toni Saccente, 32, of West Islip; Krystal Rodriguez, 37, of Bay Shore; Nicole Saccente, 55, from Cape Coral, Fla., and a 12-year-old girl, whose name has been withheld, were treated for their injuries sustained in the crash.
