NEW YORK — A school bus collision in the Queens neighborhood of Oakland Gardens resulted in injuries to nearly a dozen children and several adults on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Alley Road and 233rd Street.
Officials from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) reported that 10 children, identified as special needs and nonverbal, sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Additionally, three adults have been listed in serious condition but fortunately, they are all expected to recover from their injuries. The nature of the injuries has not been disclosed.
All the injured parties were transported to medical facilities for treatment, with some being taken to North Shore Hospital and others to Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Authorities are currently investigating the precise cause of the crash, and ongoing developments will be made available to the public.
