SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens – A tragic car accident early Saturday morning resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to two other pedestrians when a taxi veered off the road. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Lefferts Boulevard and 115th Avenue.
According to police reports, the crash involved a gray Honda Accord and a yellow taxi cab, which collided at the busy intersection. The impact of the collision caused the taxi to jump the curb, striking three individuals who were standing on the sidewalk. Authorities confirmed that a 51-year-old woman was critically injured and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
In addition to the deceased, two men, aged 49 and 44, sustained minor injuries in the incident but are reported to be in stable condition and expected to survive. Fortunately, neither driver nor passengers in the two vehicles involved were harmed during the accident.
