JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — A police pursuit in New York City culminated in a dramatic crash on Sunday morning when a fleeing driver plowed into a group of pedestrians on the sidewalk. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. at the intersection of 80th Street and Northern Boulevard.
The vehicle involved, a white BMW, crashed into an FDNY call box, preventing a potentially catastrophic impact with a nearby restaurant. Four individuals were struck by the vehicle; however, only two required hospitalization. A 23-year-old man suffered a laceration to his leg, while a 28-year-old woman experienced back pain. Both victims are currently in stable condition.
