A tragic car accident occurred in St. Albans, Queens on Monday afternoon, resulting in one fatality and injuries to another individual. At approximately 4 p.m., a 66-year-old driver was shot in the head, causing his vehicle to lose control as he proceeded through the intersection of 117th Road and Farmers Boulevard. The driver, William Alcindor, was subsequently thrown into a chaotic sequence of events.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang that marked the moment of the crash. Roberto Tendilla, a manager at a nearby supermarket, recounted the scene, describing the sound of the car colliding with a building across the street. “It was crazy. I’ve never seen anything like it in the 17 years I’ve worked here,” he said.
Several witnesses suggested that Alcindor may not have been the intended target of the gunshot. Reports indicate that the gunfire might have originated from a group of teenagers involved in a fight at a nearby fast-food restaurant. The police characterized the shooting as appearing to be random.
