A sanitation worker was fatally injured on Saturday evening in a tragic incident at a Department of Sanitation yard in Queens, New York.
Richard Errico, who had been employed as a sanitation truck operator, was involved in an accident at the yard situated on Douglaston Parkway near Grand Central Parkway around 5:43 p.m., according to police reports.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded promptly to the scene where Errico was found. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet provided details about how Errico fell from the sanitation truck.
City officials expressed their condolences following the worker’s untimely death, highlighting Errico’s long-standing commitment to public service.
